Academics at Wheeler

Curiosity and choice drive academic excellence through our student-centered approach

At Wheeler, we believe learning that endures requires meaningful work, critical thinking, and productive struggle. We aim to balance support with challenge—and collaboration with independence.

Our educators are experts in their subject areas and deeply committed to their students’ development. They discover and nurture each child’s interests, while building a firm foundation in the humanities, STEM, and the arts.

Your child’s intellectual, social, and emotional growth is at the heart of all we do, and together with you, we give each student the tools and encouragement they need to become their best self.

Lower School: Early Childhood

Nursery, Pre-K & Kindergarten

Our youngest students enjoy immersive, hands-on learning experiences at our urban campus and on The Farm. Play is at the center of each day, as we focus on discovery, cooperation—and learning to love learning.  Ages 2.9 – 5 years may register for The Nest Preschool.
