School Creates Equity Task Force

June 19, 2020

We are grateful to those of you who have reached out during this time,  across the generations at Wheeler, to talk with us, to share your stories, to express support to continue to push Wheeler to ensure that every child – Black and brown — is heard, known and seen. We have been encouraged by the personal outreach by alumni, as well as inspired by the support of our current students, faculty, staff, and families as we listen and learn about our past, our present, and our shared expectations for our future. Already, alumni and parents have volunteered to speak to our community to share their stories and to serve on our existing Diversity Committee. Please continue to reach out to Allison Gaines Pell, Head of School, Princess Bomba, Director of Unity & Diversity.  We are here to listen, learn, grow, and act. We invite members of the Wheeler Community to read the Equity Task Force report in the portal.

A banner stating Black lives matter hangs on the campus with purple and gold school color handprints surrounding it.
