The Wheeler Global Experience Program empowers students to become active, empathetic global citizens through transformative travel and virtual exchanges. These immersive experiences broaden perspectives and build lasting relationships in today’s interconnected world.

Recent Global Experiences: 2023-2025

• Iceland: Environmental Science – Hands-on exploration of Iceland’s stunning landscapes, ecosystems, and innovative sustainability practices.
• Spain: History, Language, and Culture – Spanish history, culture (Barcelona football match, Las Fallas!), and life alongside students from our partner schools.
• France: Art and Immersion – Deep dive into French art, language, and daily life, tracing the footsteps of our founder, Mary C. Wheeler.
• Italy and Greece: Classical History and Culture – Journey through the origins of Western civilization, combining history, art, and cultural exchange.
• Portugal: Music Exchange in Sintra – Jazz-focused collaboration and cultural exchange for student musicians. Wheeler’s first international Jazz tour. 
• Ecuador: STEM and the Galápagos Islands – Exploring science, ecology, and sustainability in one of the world’s most extraordinary ecosystems.
• Colombia: Public and Mental Health Initiatives – Learning firsthand about health and wellness with Indigenous communities and local health professionals.
• Japan: Language, Culture, and Connection – Strengthening global partnerships through travel, language immersion, and cultural exchange in Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo. 
  
• Dominican Republic: Service Learning, Wellness, Community Connection – Service along with adventure and wellness activities. The experience focuses on a blend of service, joy, and personal growth.
• Ghana: History, Culture, Connection – Students visit schools in Accra, local businesses and landmarks such as the Door of No Return, creating deep connections between past and present, and personal journeys of history and memory.
