Key Dates & Enrollment Process

Applicants who submit all materials by the required deadlines will be reviewed during the first round of admissions and will receive decisions for admission and, if applicable, financial aid on Friday, February, 28. After the February 28 decision date, applications will be processed on a rolling basis and offers of admission will be made if there is space available in the given grade.

Key Dates To Note

    ~ Campus Visit Must be completed
    ~ MS & US Applicants Only: Submit Test Scores from the ISEE or SSAT (state testing is also acceptable for MS applicants only)

Nursery and PreKindergarten Process

  • Nursery applicants must be three (3) years old by September 1, 2020.
  • Pre-Kindergarten applicants must be four (4) years old by September 1, 2020.

Complete the online application and submit the non-refundable application fee of $60. You must complete the Wheeler online Application before your campus visit.

 

Parent/Guardian Statement

Parent/Guardians must complete the Parent/Guardian Statement found online in the Wheeler Application Portal.

 

  • Nursery and PreKindergarten Parents/Guardians must first complete the Wheeler Application Form before any visit is scheduled.
  • All Nursery and PreK applicants must attend a Friday morning playdate.
  • Children will play in a small group with members of the Early Childhood team while parents meet with the Director of Enrollment and Director of Lower School.
  • Once your application is received, the Enrollment Office will contact you to schedule your playdate visit.

Nursery and Pre-K applicants need to request that your child’s current teacher complete the N-1st Grade Recommendation Form found on this page.

Lower School Process

  • Kindergarten applicants must be five (5) years old by September 1, 2020.
  • 1st Grade applicants must be six (6) years old by September 1, 2020.
  • 2nd Grade applicants must be seven (7) years old by September 1, 2020.
  • 3rd Grade applicants must be eight (8) years old by September 1, 2020.
  • 4th Grade applicants must be nine (9) years old by September 1, 2020.
  • 5th Grade applicants must be ten (10) years old by September 1, 2020.

Parent/Guardian Statement

Parent/Guardians must complete the Parent/Guardian Statement found online in the Wheeler Application Portal.

 

  • Parents/Guardians must first complete the Wheeler Application Form (or Standard Application Online) before any visit is scheduled. All Kindergarten applicants must participate in a one-on-one assessment with an Admissions Director on Friday Mornings. Parents then meet with the Director for 20 minutes. Once the application is submitted, a member of the Enrollment team will contact you to schedule your visit.
  • Parents/Guardians must first complete the Wheeler Online Application Form before any visit is scheduled. All 1st – 5th grade applicants spend a day at Wheeler with their age group. Once the application is submitted, a member of the Enrollment team will contact you to schedule your visit.
  • Lower School tours for parents are offered on Thursday mornings. These are optional, however, it is a great opportunity to learn more about our program and see our school in action. To register for a tour, please contact the Enrollment Office.

Submit transcript(s) that include grades for the past 2.5 years. Transcript release forms can be found here. Transcripts not required for Nursery, Pre-K and Kindergarten.

Request that your child’s current teacher complete the Teacher Recommendation. Forms can be found here.

Middle & Upper School Process

Complete the online Wheeler Application and submit the non-refundable application fee of $60. The application must be completed before your campus visit. Wheeler specific Parent/Guardian and Student supplemental forms are required but do not need to be completed before the campus visit.

Parent/Guardian Statement

Parent/Guardians must complete the Parent/Guardian Statement found online in the Wheeler Application Portal.

Student Statement

Students must complete the Student Statement found online in the Wheeler Application Portal. They must login under their parent/guardian’s credentials.

  • 6th Grade Applicants: Parents/Guardians must first complete the Wheeler Application Online (or Standard Application Online is also accepted) before scheduling a full-day visit. 6th Grade applicants will spend the full day with their peer group and meet with current 6th grade students.  Once the application is submitted, a member of the Enrollment team will contact you to schedule your visit.
  • For 7th through 12th grade Applicants: Parents/Guardians must first complete the Wheeler Application Online (or Standard Application Online is also accepted) before scheduling an interview time for their child(ren). Once our office has viewed the completed Parent/Guardian Application, the Enrollment office will reach out to each family to schedule a date and time for your child’s interview.
  • During the visit, families will have the option to go on a 30-minute tour with a current student.
  • Applicants will interview one-on-one with an admission officer and then the parents/guardians will have an opportunity to ask questions. No preparation is needed for interview.
  • Note: Applicants must interview by the February 7 deadline. Please try to schedule your interview early due to the limited number of interview spaces.

• All Middle and Upper School students must submit some form of testing to be considered for admission. Wheeler accepts the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT), or the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). (For Middle School applicants only, we will also accept state testing conducted in your current school.) Applicants can take either test, or both if they desire. We do not prefer one test over the other — we view all tests equally. Note: We must receive the applicant’s test scores by noon on Friday, February 7, in order for the application to be considered complete.
