…says Head of Middle School Vanessa O’Driscoll P’27, P’29 on the latest episode of The This Week at Wheeler Podcast. “So athletically, kids will try a sport they’ve never tried before. It’s not only kids who have been playing lacrosse since they were three who feel welcome on the team–but the kids who were playing since they were three have opportunities, too.

“With the Aerie Enrichment Program, I have an advisee who I asked the other day to list what electives he takes, and he said, ‘Oh, well, I do chess…And the play…Oh, and photography…Also I do Mathcounts.’ He’s dabbling in all of those things, and eventually he’s going to specialize, probably, but for now he’s getting to experiment with a lot of things, and I think those opportunities are always there.” You can hear more by playing the conversation below!
