About the Health Center
The Health Center is located in the Madden Gym. The nurse is available to students and families from 7:30 AM-3:15 PM. All medical information should be sent directly to the Health Center Office. You can fax confidential information directly to us at (401) 528-2172.  Any student who feels ill during the day should go to the health center to be evaluated by the nurse. If the nurse sends the student home the parents/guardians will be notified. Students are not allowed to leave school because of illness without seeing the nurse.

If a student has an athletic injury the Athletic Trainer is available on campus to students from 10:30-2:00 and then he is available at the Wheeler Farm athletic facilities from 2:30-6:00PM during the school year. The school counselor is available to work with students, administrators, faculty, staff and parents. She is on campus from 7:30-4:30 and is available via cell after school hours. She is available to meet individually with students and provides outside referrals to counselors.

Health and Wellness is important to the Wheeler community so the Health Center offers a variety of educational programs to parents and students during the school year. Health topics are integrated in the curriculum in all divisions.  In addition, we are committed to teaching additional comprehensive health curriculum to student in grades 4 through 9.
