Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 23/24 school year! We are grateful to have you as a member of the Wheeler School Parents Association (WSPA) and look forward to engaging with you throughout the year.

As a parent or guardian of a Wheeler or Hamilton student, you are automatically a member of WSPA and a key contributor to our thriving Wheeler community. We are a 100% parent volunteer organization, and your involvement is pivotal to the vibrancy of our mission. Your time (be it one hour or many!), energy, and individual talents are treasured by our community.

Throughout the year, we have many opportunities for you to engage and volunteer. We host two all-division meetings and three division-specific meetings to provide updates from Hamilton and Wheeler division heads, explore topics of interest aligned with each division, and share information about upcoming WSPA activities. Additionally, we sponsor a myriad of events which are a mix of parent and guardian mingling, family fun, and events that support our students, faculty, staff, and the greater community. The Wheeler calendar, located on the Parent and Guardian Portal, is where you can find all of the dates and details. And, you can look forward to hearing very soon from your WSPA class representatives who will provide support for grade-specific needs and events, as well as share additional ways to get involved!

We encourage you all to keep up to date on the many WSPA happenings throughout the school year. Our monthly newsletter, sent the first Monday of every month, shares upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and more. You can also follow WSPA on Facebook, and learn more about who we are and what we do, by checking out the WSPA Overview document and our list of Volunteer Roles and Contacts (located on the Parent Portal). Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of our WSPA volunteers with your questions, feedback, and ideas. If you are ready to get involved, we invite you to fill out the Volunteer Interest Survey.

Your voice (as well as your time!) are always important to us, specifically this year as we work to refresh how we support our community, including the events, experiences, and engagement we bring to the greater Wheeler community. We look forward to involving you all in this process and thank you in advance for your participation in improving our Wheeler parent and guardian experience.

I hope to see you all at our first WSPA all-division meeting on September 28!
