Home of the Warriors.

The collaborative spirit that is present in our classrooms is right at home on the playing field. Our students learn the value of competition and collaboration early and when they step out on the field, court or course they already know what it takes to win - and have the abilities to do so. Our post-season Varsity honors underscore these talents.

The Upper School athletic program is comprised of 24 interscholastic teams for boys and girls: soccer, tennis, field hockey, cross country, basketball, squash, swimming, lacrosse, track & field, softball, baseball, and golf; and two cooperative teams, football and ice hockey with PCD. The Middle School athletic program provides students with the opportunity to compete in interscholastic athletics, offering 11 sports for boys and girls.

  • Field 1 at Wheeler's Farm Campus Athletic Facility will be used for a new turf field.

    Organic Turf Field Announced

The Wheeler School is adding a natural, organic, athletic turf field to its Athletic Complex on the School’s 120-acre second campus in Seekonk, MA.  The field will be located on Walker Street and support both fall and spring teams as well as being available to outside youth groups for rental.  It is scheduled for construction over the summer and will be in use for the Fall 2018 sports season.

Wheeler Athletic Director Jon Donahue said, “This new turf field illustrates a continued commitment by the School to our athletics program.  Having this field, as well as the other fields and facilities at our 120-acre Farm Athletics Complex, enhances the athletic experience for our students who have great pride in our Wheeler Warrior program.”  This new artificial turf field offers greater flexibility for practices and games, allowing for optimal conditions throughout the season.  The turf field also provides valuable playing experience for student athletes headed to colleges with similar playing surfaces.

The new field will be made possible by a Wheeler family who wishes to remain anonymous.  The entire project includes parking and spectator seating as well as the field.  The new field will be configured into two practice fields as well as a regulation field for field hockey, lacrosse and soccer.  The field will use an infill blend of coconut fiber and cork.  Scheduling for outside groups will begin in summer 2018.
