Kim Chazan Zwetchkenbaum '83 To Receive Founder's Award
The Wheeler School Alumni Association has announced the recipient of its 2018 Founder’s Award presented during this year’s Reunion, October 13, on the campus in Providence, RI.
Each year, Wheeler’s Alumni Association Founder’s Award honors a graduate who makes a positive difference in the community as a volunteer, philanthropist or ambassador. Former Wheeler Alumni Association President Kim Chazan Zwetchkenbaum '83 is this year's recipient.
Kim, the founder of Wish Big, a handmade greeting card company, became an active alumna when her children joined the Wheeler community. All three are graduates: son Alexander '09, daughter Abby '11 and son Drew '12. The wife of Dr. John Zwetchkenbaum of Providence, Kim served on the Wheeler Alumni Board from 2003 - 2013, and was President for 2009-2011, also serving on the Wheeler School Board of Trustees.
As President, Kim's mantra and mission was to engage "one alum at a time" in a way each wanted to connect with Wheeler. She was an advocate for alumni as current parents, a growing segment of our parent body, and she helped craft some of the "alumni legacy" programming that is in place today. She continues to be an advocate and reunion volunteer for her class which will celebrate its 35th Reunion this year.
