Relevant Testing Information

At a minimum, all applicants must have a psycho-educational or neuropsychological-education evaluation.  These evaluations are comprehensive and should diagnose the learning difficulties that a child is experiencing and suggest a treatment plan.  These evaluations can be done by independent evaluators or public school officials and should be up-to-date.  In general, we recommend that evaluations be done every three years, but sometimes a more recent evaluation, especially during the admission process, is desired.

Sometimes additional testing information is required.  For example, if a psycho-educational evaluation diagnoses a language impairment, we may want parents to have an additional language evaluation so that the exact nature of the impairment can be diagnosed and we can be better able to make our admission decision.

Testing information is requested from parents by Hamilton after initial inquiries by the parents.  The testing results will enable the admissions office to determine if there might be a match between the child and the school and whether to go forward with the admission process.
