|Lower School Teacher To Hold Siperstein Chair|
Lower School Spanish teacher and Diversity Coordinator Lupe Vivier has been selected by the school's faculty and staff as the Jason & Carly Siperstein Chair. Since 2004 the Chair's purpose has been to honor the "school's most cherished resource: its faculty." Each holder must have served at Wheeler for a minimum of 10 years and be an "influential, dedicated and full-time teacher." Vivier joined the Wheeler faculty in 1999. Lower School Head Dana Hahn said of her: "She loves and is committed to all of the students, to our Lower School division; she supports and understands the “big picture” of Wheeler, and she is a leader in providing lessons and experiences related to diversity to enrich our students understanding of these important issues. She is a great colleage — giving, supportive and ready to jump where needed." Siperstein Chair recipients receive the honor for a 3-year term. Past recipients include Jean Carlson, Philip Hall and Ann-Marie Gillette.
